Immaculate

I was watching a program on PBS a while ago. This lady, Immaculate (am not sure about her last name) came on the show and started talking about her experience during the Rwandan genocide.

Here is what I wrote down in my sketchbook:
"Immaculate (Ilbegenisa?) lived in a bathroom with 9 other women to escape genocide in Rwanda. All other family members were killed. 5'9" tall, she weighed 65 lbs by the end."

She was full of compassion. She survived such horrendous experience and terrible loss and still holds in her heart what is good and true. Amazing person.

Here are a couple of works we watched about the genocide:
Ghosts of Rwanda - A very strong Frontline documentary about the causes of the massacre, and exploration into whether such a thing could happen again.
Hotel Rwanda - Movie based on true events, about a Rwandan hero, Paul Rusesabagina
